Joaquín Fernández is an international Architect, is the Founder and Principal of Fernandez Architecture firm (Fz). With more than 15 years of experience Fz offers an integral and complete service in Architecture and Interior Design, from the design of the large-scale, planning and residential or mixed buildings to the small-scale, residential and commercial.
He studied at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura del Vallès (ETSAV), of Spain, one of the most prestigious Universities in the world. He finished his studies of Architecture specializing in ecological and bioclimatic systems and projects. Later he obtained Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.
For several years he has been professor of the ETSAV and the School of Design of Barcelona LLOTJA, giving classes in Architecture, Interior Design and Construction Management. More recently, and thanks to his professional experience, he has given master classes at different specialized Universities in the United States.
Joaquín Fernández has developed his career working on residential and commercial projects in Europe. It is worth mentioning his restoration and design projects that have contributed to the preservation, maintenance and updating of Catalan Modernism, a world-renowned style. At the same time, he collaborated with leading United States Architecture and Interior Design firms, bringing their expertise and ContemporaryEuropean Style, and for some years now, he has also been developing his professional activity independently from Fz in United States.
Joaquín Fernández is a member of the American Institute of Architects, obtained the international recognition of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, becoming part of the American Architects with maximum knowledge in his field, and he is a licensed Professional Architect in different states of the United States and in Europe. Its professional career has the recognized chair of correspondent of Spain by the State of Florida issued by The Official College of Architects.
