The house we found was as the previous owners had left it. The finishes were acceptable, but totally outdated and obsolete for the new family that would be using it. The new owners wanted to do a comprehensive remodeling so that their new house could feel like a home that complemented their style.
Our work focused mostly on the interior of the home–its distribution, finishes and design.
The exterior elements that were modified were prompted by the changes to the interior, maintaining the same style and spirit of the original house.
The idea was to adapt and improve the interior without adjusting the exterior aesthetics. The house is situated in a town north of Catalonia where rustic style structures typically reflect the surroundings of the countryside . The building materials are stone, wood, slate tile and competitive elements typical of the mountain area.
For our first meeting with the client, we had a long conversation during the inspection of the house. This way, we began learning about our customers including how they used the space, how they lived, and what their needs were. It is important for us to know our clients well in order to create a completely personalized design and proposal.
